Ferguson

Morning kids...chances are you never heard of the town Ferguson, prior to the unrest there in the past two weeks...it's a suburb of Saint Looey...which has grown to be more than 67% African-American...a relatively small community...home to the lead singer of the Doobie Bros, Michael McDonald...well, that's where he was born...BUT...this town is packing a powerful punch into our media show...as an unarmed Black, was shot 6 times...and died thereof...by a White policeman... the people there have had it...and are demonstrating against their claims of racial profiling...

And for the last few nights, the police and law enforcement sections of the area have banded together to quell any disturbances...they are there in case things get out of hand...so far, I am giving a pro-police type of scenario of the happenings...

Last night I was watching 3 stations covering the problem...CNN, Fox, and MSNBC...and the visual was dangerous, scary, and bewildering...all at the same time...one announcer, CNN's Jake Tapper, had the most to say...as he repeated, "Why are all the law people, there, in such great force?"...it appeared to be a ratio of 8 to 1, favoring the police...maybe greater than that...and then...BOOM!...

Law enforcement moved forward and launched tear gas, and shot rubber bullets at the crowd...trying to disperse them...or arrest them...what ever it took to clear the streets...in full view of the rolling cameras...an item that they clearly did not want shown...as they had claims of provocation....people throwing water bottles and rocks at 'em...possible fire starts in the businesses close by...hmmm...

Have to admit...with all of the live streaming, I did not see what they were saying...

Where are you on this?...I can see both sides...and can picture myself in the shoes of each...and can understand the dilemma...and...this story won't go away...I see escalation...

Other stuff...

Johnny Football...ah ha...the euphoria of the brat...as he is a polarizing figure in the NFL...lurve or hate him...and he did nothing to quell that last eve in Washington...as he got so frustrated that he flipped the inglorious bird at the opponent's bench...

Speaking of Wash...the announcers that will be doing the first counter there...WILL NOT USE REDSKINS in their broadcast...I did that years ago, when I was doing radio for KBZY in Orygun...we had the playoff game that included the Roseburg INDIANS...just called 'em the...well, anything but...it can be done...

I wonder what % of the season that the Pads are dogs on the betting line?...maybe like 80 percent...and are again at LA this eve...facing yet another old Padre...this time Kevin Corria(sp)...

My golf game is coming back after a disastrous round the other day...ha ha...my putting is still a problem...maybe change to another putter for just that...I have like 4 or 5 waiting in the wings...must be the stick...

Our good friends, the Chapmans roll into town...literally...coming in by train...and we have some very cool concerts we are going to...

I have to admit we have a din din place that we go, that has the best meal anywhere...well, it's in the top 5...Sally's...on the bay...like a 5 minute walk for us...it's the Ahi Tuna...served on spinach and smashed potatoes...the best, Jerry, the best...rivals Mamas in Paia...

Taylor Swift is finally releasing her stuff as pop...duh...really?...I like it...it is fun and peppy...and who the hell cares what genre it is in...it's good...
