Morning kids, took a day off...went golfing...and it was my day of days...finally, and I mean FINALLY...broke 80...Sycuan is not easy...and it will gobble you up somewhere...I started with 2 doubles in the first 4 holes and thought, here we go again...and from there I was 2 over for the rest of the round...really good for me...and very satisfying...enough of me...

Have you followed any of the build up of Latin American kids on the US/Mexico border?...their way of trying to get out of the increasing crime in their own countries...and is such that it has created another little city of them...and a major headache...what to do...a major issue that will only get worse...

World Cup...knock out round...wonder why the NCAA doesn't call that in their Big Dance...same thing...you win, you move on...you lose and you are history...ha ha...anyway, the US versus Belgium on Tuesday, I think...pour me another beer and let's all jump up and down...

Michelle Wie is on a tear...continuing her dominant play in the LPGA...Arkansas, I think...and just on top of her game...like what a lot of people thought would have happened earlier in her career...well, it's now and she is IT!...

Martin Kaymer goes back home after solidly whupping all the blokes here in the US Open...and misses the cut...is his home T...I give him an out...and will still consider him in the British...by the way...Tiger is the early betting fav...what?...based on what?...

The Pads are now officially the worst...lost again last eve to the other turrible team, the DBacks...makes no diff who the opponent's pitcher is...SD can't hit 'em...the Trib had an article about 3B Headley...who is our star hitting about at the Mendoza (.200)...still refer to his crazy stats in the last half of '12...and for the first time ever in print, mentioned those who think he may have been on 'roids...naw...ha ha...

It's the time of reunions....and we are heading back to the great state of Oregon next month...just a brief stay, but it will be fun to see our old, ah hem, not in age, but in the past, friends...really looking forward to it...kind of wish we were renting an RV and staying longer than 4 nights...

There is a very quiet confidence in the manner of preparation for this year's version of the Chargers...just tweaking the D a bit...and adding some needed parts...hmmm...I like where this headed...

We went over to the Symphony on the Bay on Friday eve...there was a tribute to Elvis...which I must add that was borderline embarrassing...they spent a goodly portion of the early time asking for $...the whole night was unsettling...just play what you can...we go back for Boz (really) in a couple of weeks...he's really going to do a set with them...it has to better, right?...

NBA...are we witnessing the dismantling of the Heat?...kind of hard to figure it out...the adjustments of pay...making some of the $ more long term, so they can afford some new blokes...the rookie Net's coach, Jason Kidd, may be running to Milwaukee...what?...and something has to be brewing in Laker land...something...just do not know what yet...there are a bunch of teams in limbo...

Speaking of Chubby Checker...you know he's still touring?...yup...and if there were a better, make you feel good song, than "The Twist", I'd like to know it...

"Easy Rider"...we did watch it...and it was kind of cool...I had never seen it all the way through...lots of it were like really true, man...and the music, was legendary...that Fonda lad with them cool glasses...

You got into this summer's version of Big Brother?...so far, so good...I like the makeup of the group...the custodian has my vote thus far...at least for being entertaining...it's on like 3 or 4 times a week...CBS...who says that I am way shallow?...

The starter out at Sycuan is a huge Duck fan...and we exchange commentary...he's from Coquille...haven't heard much from up there lately...any scoops?...I know I'll get 'em when I'm in the  GNW next month....
