On The Move?

Bye Bye...
In this day and age of the movement of players...used to be once you were on a team, that was it...think about it...so much better for the athlete...monetarily...and the concept of "pride" is obviously fleeting...

It happens in pro sports all the time now...sign for 4 or 5 years...and include a buy out clause....that you can use to opt out of a contract...in lieu of the owners trading you away...this is a BIG DEAL!...

The latest to "reportedly" opt out?...the best hoopster in the world, LeBron James...too bad, so sad, Miami...and where is he off to?...speculation runs amok...

Better to pick your spot, than have to be traded to whomever the owners say...I like it...

The Padres...
In the aftermath of the firing of the GM...the team is left with a 3 headed one...there is a trading deadline of July 31st...and unlike the NBA, MLB's owners dominate the movement of players...way too many moving parts to put together than the basketball teams...

SD shelved their best P, Cashner...at least for a 15 day DL...brought up a Cuban, who has floundered in AA ball...and he pitched a gem...shutting out the division leading Giants...odd stuff...

Which leads me to what I have been saying for a while...there has to be blokes in the system as good as the under-producing guys we have been trotting out there all season...

Breeder's Cup...
It is to be announced today...that Del Mar is to get the thoroughbred's biggest set of races for the year...the BREEDERS'S CUP...2017...

A huge coup for the track and the region...just as soon as the tix come out...I am there...if you haven't yet...it is a marvelous place to watch and wager on the ponies....

Belmont Park...
Not THAT one, but the one at Mission Beach...it's way cool...has the last wooden roller coaster in the great USA...and all the things that are at a fair...you want it, they have it...

And, it's right on the beach...that was packed!...people everywhere...and we then had a walk on the beach...what a groovy spot, just a few minutes away from us...

Parks, in general...
I have never seen as many folks use their parks more than here...if there is one, it is inhabited...and I'm talking every type you can imagine...

Barbecues...family picnics...outings in general...
