Winding Down
As we approach the final couple of days of our trip here...time to reflect on the vacay...first of all, there is no better place on earth...we met a couple from Canada...Toronto...here for 3 weeks...wow...I asked why not Florida?...they replied that there is no better place on earth than here..."have been coming to this area forever"...2nd...the weather...80 +...all the time...and with a breeze...in fact, it has been in the 90's most of our stay....easily the hottest since we've been coming here...since Cris was a teen...3rd...the food...I'm not kidding about this, there is no better out there....the fish is unbelievable...4th...the warmth of the ocean waters...almost as nicely temped as Cocoa Beach...
The down side?...the cost of the food at the grocery...the meals, are normally priced at the restaurants...not at Safeway and the lot...the cost of golf...the unknown creatures lurking in the ocean...
We ventured into Lahaina...to walk the streets and do some shopping...I think our 3rd time doing so...and we opted for a round of some bubbly...popped into a place called the Yacht Club... right next door to the Lahaina Fish Co. restaurant...and it had swinging doors at its entrance...like a saloon out west...had a mickey mouse sign that said "members only"...I thought it was a joke...not so fast, my friends...as we bellied up to the bar area...and nestled in...right on the water...the yellow teethed bartender greeted us, and wanted to see our membership cards...I thought he was joking...we got booted out of the Yacht Club!...laughingly, we walked 15 feet, veered right...and went into the next spot...ordered our alcohol...and joked about it to the bartender there...by the way, he had the same color of teeth...Dr Cris, they need you!...
DWTS...got a chance to see this last eve...pretty good dancers this time around, don't you think?...more like 5 of them could win...usually it is 2 or 3...
Pads are staying a leg up on SF and Colorado...is it possible?...I guess that is a start for next season...
The Broncos are a force...Peyton is amazing...and they have Chip's Crew next week...should be, wham bam, thank you mam...sorry, Philly, but it's true...he will carve that sorry ass D apart...
Finally, this is a land of beauty...BUT...I'd rather come here than live here...you know what I mean?...so, once a year...in September...is just...PERFECT!...
