Cinco de Mayo

So just why do we celebrate the 5th of May?...I mean c'mon...and...you learn here from Crazy Horse first...it is a festive day to honor the Mexicans...as they had just a small army of 4500 that repelled the French army of 9000 at the Battle of Puebla...outside of Mexico City...here's where it gets interesting...this happened during our Civil War...as France was trying to get a hold down in Mexico to help out the Rebels...got it?...on this day, May 5...to help the South...geez, it seems that the French wanted part of this country bad, huh...anyway, this date stuck...and Cali was the first to celebrate it...now, it seems like everyone does...just a curious thought here...does the South?...I'll have a margarita, grande, on the rocks, no salt...Cuervo, si!...Cinco de Mayo!...

Orb won the Derby!...thrilling V...as he came from behind as it looks to be a dominating hoss...if healthy, has a great shot at the triple crown...and there is no better jockey than Joel Rosario...all the combo that works...so I got out to Sycuan...which was crazy overcrowded...and bet on Orb, Revolutionary, and Palace Malice...Rev came in 3rd...I pocketed $90, and felt great on the V...next time, I will wheel the exacta...depending on how many of them enter...Preakness next...

I think the Clayton Richard's Experiment has to be shut down...as he got drilled again...the Pads...gave up 6 in the 2nd...and that would close the game...and it did...he just has no movement on his ball....and the opponent tees off...I trust the management can see the same thing I see...I have written about this for a long while...

Oh my, Lefty was being Phil...what?...cruising along leading the T...and tries a shot that NOBODY would...but him...and brought the entire field back into play...ripped a ball out of bounds...drives the analysts crazy...but... the fans lurve it...great TV...and that's what it's all about, right?...supposed to have extreme weather for the final round...and they go off in groups of 3...watch out for Watney...

The Bulls beat the Nets in game 7...the system won...as most of their stars were on the bench...injured...and won it with defense and motion offense...take note Clips...both things you don't have...

Amanda Knox...watched the ABC interview last eve...well...I can see that there are questions...she comes off not so believable...and she has had years to put herself together...the DNA seems to make her innocent...but...something just doesn't click...???...

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
