Giants

Holding serve...as the SF Giants win both of their home games...albeit that most of the scribes gave Madison Baumgartner little chance of pitching well...as he was AWOL prior to last night...momentum...that's what SF has...and even when the Tigers are pitching well, the Giants found a way to scratch out a 2-0 win and go up 2-0...now, to Detroit, and some nasty weather...c'mon, Tiger hitters, show up and make the Series a good one...

Nice little article in SI about the new PG from the Blazers...how he learned the "pick and roll offense" from one of his coaches at Weber St...Damian Lillard...and became a must have for the NBA...ha ha...they were saying that there are like 10-15 nuances to the O...and, now Damian has them in his repertoire...I hate the way the game has gone...two on two and everybody else clears out of the way, and hopes that they get the ball to spot up...boooo...gone is the movement of all 5 players...it's a boring way to play...shoot, and very few teams run the floor...and it has transferred down to the collegiates...like at Weber St...

Thursday night NFL...I still forget it is on...and last night's should have been a good one...TB and Minnesota...the way the pros mangle each other, I  would think they hate the short week...oh yea, and TB won...

This is not sport...but, the way I cooked the turkey breast was extraordinary...brown it in the Le Creuset, with onion, mushrooms, and garlic...pour melted butter over it...salt and pepper generously...add a cup or so of chicken broth...cover and cook it for 2 3/4 hours at 300*...the most tender turkey you will EVER eat...and the drippings create the BEST gravy...by the way, make the fresh cranberries...cup of sugar and 3/4 cup of water...heat it, drop the berries in...cook until the berries pop...transfer to a bowl and stick in the refer...will gel up and is perfect...Chef Crazy Horze...

The Lake Show showed up at the SD Sports Arena last eve...before 11,200 devoted LA fans, they lost another pre-season game...this time to Sac...ha ha...and, Kobe, was not there...nursing an ankle...as the Lakers are winless thus far...ha ha...fugget about it...when the real deal starts next week, they'll be just fine...

Sidelight...this manager of the Giants...Bruce Bochy...must have been rotten...as the Padres fired him before he got the lowly job up in SF...another wonderous move by the departed Kevin Towers?...or did KT not make this one?...

Most everyone around here expects the Bolts to go in to Cleveland and bop the Browns...in fact, all the scribes have it that way...not CH...the Chargers will be nailed...again...like 24-17...you better hope that it's not the game you have on the national broadcast...it will be turrible...

Ducks host the Buffs...the line is 45 1/2... why the 1/2 point?...what do THEY know?...wonder if it is on the tube down here?...yup, a nooner on the Pac 12 channel...bueno...as is the Beav/Dawg game in the eve...
