TRADE

The Padres made their first bold move of the year...trading away their best and most effective pitcher to the Cincy Reds...in exchange for a reliever, another 1st baseman, and two prospects...so SD has a huge logjam at 1B...and the hot, very hot, rumor is that the GM's are scurrying about trying to land the recently acquired, 21 year old, Anthony Rizzo...here's the skinny...Matt Latos is gone...only 24 and with a nastiness that made him hard to figure out...well...the blokes that came in are going to play...I'm not doubting the positive in this one...just may be the ticket...there is a lot more shuffling to happen...

Watched the latest debate on the elephants...what on earth is Michele Bachman doing there?  Or...naw...the Newt factor is among us....very unnerving about the talk about abortion and all...so pious and pompous...boo...and...does it makes a rats ass who any newspaper editor endorses?...just who reads them?...I'm going to tell you, I have never, ever, followed any of them...so...the winner of the debate?...no diff...it's still a Mitt and Newt race...

Da Bowls...the Mountain West went 0-2...albeit the SD game was fun to watch...the Aztecs scored with less than a minute to get the V...but, hold the phone...the Rajun Cajun attacked the prevent D and got a buzzer beater FG to win...hate, absolutely hate 3 man rush prevent D's...don't the old school boys ever learn?...and the Louisiana bunch of coaches were a myriad of odd looking foos...

NBA...the pre-season stuff has begun...took in the Sac/SF game...and a look at Jimmer...who can score kids...but he is turrible on D...and the Kings have the oh so woeful Paul Westfall as their skipper...going to be a looooong year for 'em...on the other hand...my sleeper team in the west...the Warriors...new coach is Mark Jackson, and their direction looks very nice...watch out...and up in LA, domestic probs for your guy Kobe...which will be a factor in their demise...unless they make some lineup changes...

FF...I'm in the playoffs...tied for 1st in the regular season...and am in a donnybrook today...need big numbers out of QB Brees...and the Bolts host the Ravens...may be for nuttin...if your Broncos continue to win...

I went 0 for three yesterday on the first three bowl games.
Love how Newt is trying to be positive in his campaign. He's accused Obama of just about evrything including treason. He's the slimiest of all the candidates but also by far the smartest.

Thanks! I have watched a bunch of the debates...I think there are some quality people there...but some of the views are way out there...I just can't imagine why Michelle Bachman is wasting all our time!

The Ignominy

So much for diplomacy ... the absolute embarrassment by the current President of the US...his actions in 'hosting' the Ukranian President Zelensky ... as it turned out, a highly visual representation of bullying by trump...the manners and methodology that he uses on people...aligned with his arse kissers, waiting their turn to take potshots at Zelenksy...all well orchestrated ...it was the ULTIMATE IGNOMINY of our country's 'leader'...unfortunately, for us, too...as somehow we are connected to that ogre...in reality, we are not... hoping the rest of the World can see that...here are samples of the headlines throughout that depict the sentiment of the slaughter... We are NOT aligned with Putin...WE ARE NOT!...trump is ...which begs a different query...how much longer can this idiocy go on?... Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
