Stars

So just what makes you a...STAR?...as we have grown older and wiser, the word becomes somewhat of a misnomer...is it the guy or gal that you idolize as a good ball player?...or just playing in the bigs is enough?...is it the motion picture actor or actress that is bigger than life?...or the tv personality...or the...wait...the nature of the beast is...who says that you qualify as one?...is it the magazines...or is it the television itself...just what makes you a star?
Well...let's be honest...it's a matter of personal taste...as the "star" Dianne Keaton said, that the reality "stars" are just that, too...they're on the tube, and they are performing, and they do have an audience...so they must be...stars...
So...when you have a show that is about dancing and it's with "stars", it is to be a major player...but...I just can't imagine the peops they have on DWTS are really stars...let's look at the finalists...Rikki Lake, JR Martinez, and Kimmy K's little brother, Robbie...these are stars?  Do you have them on a pedestal?...just what did they do to qualify...but, maybe they are to you...not to me...in fact, I barely even knew who they were...
The real stars...are now the "pros" who guide the "stars" around the dance floor...Derek Hough, Cheryl Burke, and Karina Smirnoff...they are more recognizable than the others...so it should be Dancing With The Pros...a show about some wannabees trying to catch up with their Pros...
I digress...I have Karina and JR, riding the public vote, and winning the Mirror Ball...

The Odd Board...the Ducks are 28 point favs...the Bolts are 6 1/2 favs on the visiting Broncos...LSU by 13 over number 3 Arkansas...SDSU by 14 1/2 over UNLV...Oklahoma over the suddenly strong Iowa St. by 27 1/2...maybe time to get over to Vegas...

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
