Summer Heat

Finally, the summer has arrived!  And with it the frustrations and elations of the long MLB season...the Diamondback's Edwin Jackson threw a no-no gainst the Tampa (Devil) Rays...with a whopping 149 pitch count, which included 8 walks...the Rays are fresh off a whupping by the Pads and are still hurting...got to think, if the Ariz squad was in the hunt, he would have been lifted after the 7th...
Woooah!  The Cubs are struggling, as usual...and the former ace of their staff had a melt down...in front of all the baseball world...Carlos Zambrano, had another rocky start...fumed into the dugout, and called out his players for not making dives for the balls hit at them...oops, the wrong guy to attack...one Derrick Lee, the massive 1B, and leader of the team...chaos erupted...CZ was booted from the team for an indefinite time...oh my, the heat of summer...
Just merrily going along...the Padres...lefty Clayton Richard be bopped and scatted...left the Marlins in the dust as he paired with the GAB pen and shut out the host Floridians...3-0...quietly picking up his game, Will Venable with another dinger...real curious if they get today's game in...we called off our Cocoa Beach trip due to the weather...revised it and are going to stay in the wine country of Temecula...

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
