What's Going On

The lineup has changed in a bizarre fashion the last 2 nights and I am left bewildered on all counts...you know I'm talking the Padres and it's manager Bud Black (Buddy)....the recent history goes....the leader of the west by 3 1/2 games, coming off a sweep of the 2nd place Giants...using the speed group to secure the wins...and wooah, he starts doing the lefty against righty and righty against lefty crap...which he hasn't being doing...dance with who brung ya, Buddy....
What's Going On...to start ancient Matt Stairs in the biggest game thus far of the season is a colossal boner...not only is he a non-starter, but is the worst hitter on a poor hitting team...couple that with using Hundley in lieu of Torrieba at C is downright goofy...
Mercy, Mercy, Me...not pulling K Correa after 5 innings, when he was up with a runner on base, was another bone job...use your outstanding bull pen big guy...KC was just coming off a tragedy and did what he could...as he gave up another run after being shoved back out there to the 6th...witness the pen doing the job after he came out...duh...
I'll Be Doggone...poor Adam Russell, gets sent back down to Portland, without pitching a pitch...as you faithful readers know, I think he's a diamond in the rough...
How Sweet It Is...let's just say for saying sake...Buddy goes back and looks at what it took to get his squad where it is...and gets the speed group back out there...and uses his pen the way it was set up...then all will be forgiven....can he do this?
Let's Get It On...without a doubt a win this afternoon will right the ship...but the city of SD is battling the image of a loser and the number of people who would rather root for LA...kind of embarrassing really...in a letter to the editor of the Trib today, the Tijuana faithful feel slighted towards the Pads and thus, give all their support to the Dodgers....it does appear that there is a number of Latinos in the area have that same idea...

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
