There was once a feller

So you like your MLB history? There was once this feller named Steve Blass...a journeyman pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates...hey, we're talking 67 years young and last pitched in the bigs back in '74...as do a lot of former ballplayers, they develop other interests rather early in life due to having to get out of baseball at such an early age...oops, I can't really tell you what that is...but here is the real deal...Pitt hosts an alumni golf tourney every year, to honor and keep the camaraderie tight for the old Pirate players...seems that Steve had a visit with one other very famous Pirate fan, none other than Arnold Palmer...whether or not, that had an impact...Mr. Blass went out and did what is like 67 million to one...he had 2 holes in one in the same round!!! Steve, you were spot on...

My college pix...again 4-1...UCLA whupping on the Vols was my only miss...USC in a heart stopper over OSU...OSU (Beavs) in a nail biter over UNLV (as I warned you)...UW in a stomp over the Vandals...and Hawaii embarrassing WSU....
And food for thought...the Dux rebounded with a home win over Purdue, 38-36...BYU and Cal in big wins...Okla big over Idaho St....SDS won it's home opener...next week I'm picking the Mountain West...

Tiger opens up a 7 stroke lead at the BMW...turn out the lights...

In about an hour the Sunday NFL kicks off and , as usual, I am fantasy bound...really could care less about who wins...outside of the hometown Bolts...I think it's a party at the Dude's for this one tomorrow eve...

When you wonder about the importance of collegiate football...you have to stop and realize 105,000 people must be believers...check out the numbers at the Horse Shoe at Ohio State...

Fore!!! or is that two??!

I attended the Duck game Sat. nite and can make several observations. The Ducks are not a contender this year. Not physical, lots of execution problems and no true running back.
The noise level in Autzen actually caused pain in my ears. Loudest thing I have ever heard. 58,000 people, more than half of them drunk.
probably wouldn't go again unless in a box or suite.
