Halliburton in Iraq


So after my delivery of the corporation Halliburton's journey through Nigeria, the real story that caught the public's eye was their involvment in Iraq. Most everything I have read has put the corporation above board, but REAL shady...to recap, former VP Dick Cheney was the CEO of Halliburton from 1995- 2000, just prior to him taking office in the Bush regime...his successor was convicted of improprieties and was jailed for the company's problems in Nigeria...fast forward now to 9/11/2001...as the US was attacked by Bin Laden and his followers, the US went after him for retaliation...problem is that it is a band of terrorists and not a country...so the Bush regime picks out Iraq as the benefactor of our anger..."they have weapons of mass destruction" and in we went...
Here is where it gets interesting...shortly after the military gets in Iraq there is a need for set-up and upkeep of military bases there...a company is needed to do such a thing...there are a number of corporations that do such a thing...the contract is given to none other than Halliburton!!! Amongst a number of things this corp does is manage the bases and all...they bring in subsidiary companies from 3rd world countries to clean latrines, amongst all else that is needed...Cheney sells off 1/2 his stock in Halliburton to avoid the appearance that he had any involvement in his former corp had any insider help in getting the contract...OMG
The Padres swept the Reds as Jake Peavy threw over 120 pitches and Kooz had 3 hits in the final victory...
The Lakers won and move on...the Celts got upset by the Magic...

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
