OMG...the Padres got game no.1 against the Giants and go with Peavy tonight...I actually got to watch the last 4 innings of this due to a rain delay...Scott Hairston proved to be the big hero as he leaped up and took a HR away from Bengie Molina and then bopped a 3 run tater in the bottom half of the 8th...good stuff... and the Pads have some live young arms in the pen...who'd a guessed it...
And now for my SJ rag...is fishing a sport? If it is , then watching a baseball game is a sport, too. The similarities are remarkable...you sit or stand a long time...if you pay enough you can get closer to the action (fishing=waders, baseball=box seats)...if what you catch is good enough you keep it(fishing=big fish, baseball=foul ball)...if what you catch is not good enough you throw it back(fishing=too small a fish,baseball=opponent's home run ball)...you drink a lot(fishing=six pack of beer,baseball=six bottles of beer)...you brag(fishing=biggest fish ever,baseball=best game ever)...see, they're both great sports...
