Let's Meet in Doha

Good morning, kids...with the Journal headline for the day...I was thinking that we had another anagram to try to figure out...Doha...dead on his arse?...no, no that...done opened his arc?...nope...well, I could go on guessing...turns out to be yet another geography lesson of the day...Doha is a city in Qatar (Cutter?)...and THAT'S where the WAR combatants are to MEET to solve the trump WAR...for sure, we have learned so many names in the Middle East in the past 2 years, right?...Strait of Hormuz, was that in your vocabulary?...

Back home, SCOTUS has been delivering verdicts left and right...and that is true, figuratively speaking...today 3 more...birthright issue, campaign finance, and transgender athlete banning...the one yesterday, about that trump couldn't coerce them to hear his complaint about his money to be given to Ms Carroll...was a big sigh for her...they wouldn't deal with it...which made the poopah furious...you know, catsup everywhere...

I had a huge response to the Putin thing...he was being ousted, possibly...listen all, the amounts of Russian soldiers that have been killed in the Ukraine War is staggering...estimates as high as 500,000 killed!...imagine the numbers injured...and NOW, the constant hits on Moscow...it's just a matter of time...one would think...

Not sure how to address this...there are some states that still allow executions...yes, here in the USA...as I dug deeper, there were many more than I thought...27 states still have it...some use it more than others...Texas (600 since 1976) by far...followed by Florida, Alabama, and Missouri...hmmm...the actual numbers have been dwindling over this decade...but, one, Florida, their's has risen...what's your take?...

Aging...a nasty thing to talk about...as we all do...well, us elders...seeing the latest of our concerts, smacked me right in the eye...these superstars of music...not what they used to be...sad, really...and the news out of Dylan land...is that he has lost 2 of his band in the past 2 weeks...you know (sorry CC), the band was off when we saw them...guess that is the reason...and his songs?...where on earth were his hits?...and he hid his mug in a hoodie, behind the lights...dude, we all age...

From afar, I still try to keep up with the NBA Portland team...'the good old days'...bringing in Ja Morant, does bring back memories >>>of the Portland Jailblazers!...not too sure this is a good move...+...on the fence about the new owner keeping them in PDX...the rumor mill is that he has eyes on Nashville...

Still in the NBA...so much talk about the new and improved Golden State Warriors...how they are going to get the extremely brittle Brow, and the elder LeBron (and Bronny) to add to the team of Steph Curry and Draymond...now, if you are talking senior citizens...this is it...

Oh my, another rookie mistake...the Friars Mgr Stammen...bases loaded in the 8th...and in lieu of bringing in Holy Sheets to bat, let the struggling Fermin hit...a pop up and out...then, if he was to get Miller in the 9th...START him in the 9th...not with the winning runs on...rookie mistakes...it's just not that hard, kids...

In the FIFA World Cup...Paraguay ousted Germany!...a 1-1 game...so tough to score in soccer...for me, a weird game...fun to play, awful to watch...OK, maybe frustrating...

Finally, today...we are having our annual physicals...as Doc Shi says to me 'Peter Peter'...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
